The "Educate a Child" Program

The story told in words and pictures - click on image above to view a slide show. In February, Jambo’s staff went to Kenya to enroll ten girls at Moi Girls High School and St. Mary’s Secondary School in Southeast Kenya.
About the Program
Jambo’s “Educate A Child” program provides an opportunity for continuing education with the establishment of a fund for secondary school sponsorships.
In Kenya, education is free only at the primary level. The estimated cost for one student's room, board, bedding, tuition, uniforms, shoes, books, supplies, and medical exam is $550/year. The average income of a rural Kenyan family is $1/day, so very few families can afford it. A helping hand is needed.
Jambo started “Educate A Child” to meet this need. The initial 2006 campaign fund enabled sponsorship of first-year tuitions for ten graduating Iviani Primary School students. We wish the best of luck to: Eunice, Jennifer, Gladys, Mukulu, Ndanu, Catherine, Muendi, Nzula, Mercy and Damaris.

Fund raising efforts for this worthy program continue. Full Tuition sponsorships of $550 are available, and donations in any amount are welcome. For your convenience, a donation form is provided here. Click on the link to download the PDF file. You may also make a donation from this website via PayPal (Go to the Donate page).
Sponsors will receive progress reports, pictures and videos of our EAC students, and arrangements can be made to correspond directly with sponsored students.
Jambo is also planning to open volunteer visit opportunities for people who wish to assist with placing students in schools and helping in the classrooms.
We hope that you will share our vision and make a charitable contribution that will enable us to fulfill the life-changing dreams of these young girls.
